the first premium Italian rosé

Using expertise to realize a vision. Inspired by new trends and the worldwide popularity of French rosé, Daniel Caro decided to create the first premium Italian rosé on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia. Prompted by his years of collaboration with Patrick Léon and the Château d’Esclan, and the lack, at that time, of rosé expertise in the Italian market, he produced a new “lifestyle wine” of the highest quality, featuring all the elements of the top French rosés. Working with a team of local winemakers on the Costa Smeralda and with more than 25 years’ experience in wine production, Caro has been making the unique Conte Lemár rosé since 2017.

Rosé that exemplifies la dolce vita

Conte Lemár is on a par with the best French rosé wines for quality and design, and, just like the Italian red wines – such as Sassicaia, Ornellaia and Tignanello – did in the 1980s and ’90s, it looks set to conquer the market in terms of reputation, quality and volume.

From the Côte d’Azur to the Costa Smeralda

In the late 1950s, the billionaire Prince Karim Aga Khan designated the northeastern coast of Sardinia as the desirable holiday destination for discerning holiday-makers. The turquoise sea dotted with exquisite yachts makes the Costa Smeralda, to this day, a byword for glamor, elegance and prestige. Conte Lemár makes life even more enjoyable, bringing the legendary lust for life of the Costa Smeralda into your glass and a ray of southern sunshine to your taste buds. You could almost say Conte Lemár was made for celebrating.

Neptunus videt et amore capitur.

It is said that even Neptune, the Roman god of the sea, found the immediate surroundings of the Costa Smeralda more mysterious and exciting than other distant and exotic places.

In Sardinia, the story goes, he would have been partial to the island’s delicious wines. It would surprise few few would be surprised if Conte Lemár was the favorite wine of the sea god.
